Frequently Asked Questions – Watches Repair
Here you will find the most common questions asked to us regarding watches repairs. If you have a question that we haven’t answered on this page, please contact us and we’ll get an answer to you right away.
Getting an estimate is really easy. All you will need to do is go to the home page, click on the large green button labeled “Get a free Quote”, and then follow the instructions on the screen. They will guide you right through the process of sending in your watch for an estimate. If you happen to have any issues at all, you can give us a call and we will walk you through the process.
If you have a watch that is over twenty years old, your watch is considered a vintage watch. This also goes for any pocket watches, carriage clocks, and other clocks. If you have a vintage unit, you will need to pay a $ 50 fee for the estimate, even if the services are refused by the customer.
Once we receive the watch, we will notify you that we have received the watch. The next step will be the processing step. In this step, we photograph and categorize the watch to ensure that it is properly diagnosed and handled. You can expect that you will receive your estimate within five days of us receiving it. There are many times when this time period is cut in half, however, we would like you to be aware that the average time is five days. If we need to contact the manufacturer or check on parts, this process can be extended depending on the response from that manufacturer.
We will, however, contact you as soon as we have a solid estimate, so that you can decide what to do with your watch. You can choose to continue on with the repair or decide not to get it fixed. You will receive an estimate via email and then a follow-up call if you request to.
This will vary depending on the type of watch that you need repair and the type of repair. It is it something like a battery replacement; this will take less than a day. However, if it is a vintage restoration of an ancient pocket watch, this could take several months to complete. We will try to give the best estimate on how long the repairs will take when we give you the estimate. However, this time frame will depend on the exact availability of the parts from the manufacturer. We go by the manufacturers estimates and if they do not give proper estimation of delivery time, it can add to the overall repair time. We will keep in contact with you to give you necessary updates.
If you live nearby, you can simply drop off your watch at the office any time on a week day. You will also get a chance to check out our repair shop and meet our knowledgeable staff.
We will work hard to accommodate all special time requirements. We will allow you an idea upfront of whether or not the specific time frame can be met. Then, we will work our hardest to meet your deadline and keep you informed along the way.
All services and repairs are guaranteed and carried out by Migitech. They are covered for a year; however, this guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear or accidental damage. We will also not cover any repairs that were done by a third party. If you or a third party attempts to repair the watch by opening it up or another service, the guarantee will be void. You agree to these conditions by being a customer of Migitech and having them work on your unit.
All replacement batteries are covered for the first year. This one year guarantee covers only the batter and not the cover seals or damage due to water entry. This includes water entry through the crown if it is not screwed in place. If you or a third party attempts to open the watch or repair it in any way, the guarantee from Migitech will be voided. Choosing to be a customer of Migitech means that you agree to these terms.
