One of the places we were educated in doing a proper Polishing and Refurbishment of the watches, was in Switzerland (Neuchatel), in the famous WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Technical & Educational Program) school. We were thought to use different machines, techniques and materials to get the best possible results.
We went one step further: we are including different methods like laser welding techniques to get even more impressive results. By adding material (if the watch is silver- we add silver, if is gold- we add gold, if is stainless steel- we add s.steel, etc) to dented areas, we are not only polishing out the scratch or dent and losing watches’ shape, but, with polishing techniques, we are getting the watch into is original, mint condition.
Also, most metal bracelets, lugs (also called horns- where the strap/band/bracelet connects to the watch case), clasps, links, pins, etc made of steel, silver, platinum, gold, some types of titanium, etc can be restored and repaired by these techniques.
